Your routes

Can I practise in India with my Russian MBBS?

Yes. The route is FMGE, a 12-month paid internship, then registration with a State Medical Council. Your course also needs to meet NMC’s rules on length, language and internship, and we check this for you in your assessment.

Can I work as a doctor in Russia?

Yes. Your Russian diploma plus primary accreditation gives you the right to practise. As an Indian citizen you also get a work permit with your employer. Doctors are on Russia’s list of professions that can be hired without a foreign-worker quota.

Which route is better for me?

Both have real strengths. Russia offers a familiar setting, a direct route and strong pay. India offers family, low costs and paid specialist training. Your assessment compares them for your profile.

Is FMGE changing to NExT?

FMGE continues for foreign graduates until NExT starts, and NExT has no confirmed start date. We keep your plan up to date if anything changes.

Salaries and costs

How much do doctors earn?

In Russia the official average for doctors is 121,322 ₽ a month, and 212,633 ₽ in Moscow. In India, NHM medical officers earn ₹50,000–₹55,000, and PG residents earn median stipends of up to ₹1,26,927. See the salaries page.

What does it cost to live in Russia?

STRATWAY’s budget guide for an Indian doctor is up to 20,000 ₽ a month for everyday costs in regional cities and up to 30,000 ₽ in Moscow, plus rent. A 1-bedroom flat outside the centre costs about 35,593 ₽ in Kazan and 68,765 ₽ in Moscow (Numbeo, October 2026). In our worked examples a doctor keeps 49,135 ₽ or more each month after rent and everyday costs. See the salaries page.

What else will I spend besides your fees?

Official fees (FMGE is ₹4,650 per sitting), documents and translation, registration or permit charges and living costs. Our budget planner helps you add it up.

Specialist training

Can I do residency in Russia?

Yes. Ordinatura usually takes 2 years, and many places are arranged with an employer who offers a job afterwards. We help you find the right fit.

Do employers sponsor further study?

In Russia, targeted residency links an employer-funded place to agreed work. In India, some states offer in-service PG quotas for government doctors. We look at what fits your situation.

The RMCP programme

What do I get with RMCP?

A written plan for your profile, document review, structured preparation with medical Russian, and a dedicated case manager who follows up on every step.

How much does it cost?

The career check is free. The assessment and written plan is ₹5,000. The full core programme is ₹5,000 + US$3,500, paid in stages. Employment support (US$2,000) and adaptation support (US$1,000) are optional.

Do you guarantee a job or a licence?

No honest service can, because exams, licences and jobs are decided by authorities and employers. What we promise is a clear plan, real preparation and a team that follows up.

What about refunds?

Refund and cancellation terms are written into your agreement, which you read before paying for any stage.

Will my parents be updated?

Yes, with your consent. Your case manager shares clear progress summaries with your family.

Why start early?

«Чем раньше, тем лучше» — the earlier, the better. Starting early gives you more options and a calmer path, wherever you are now.
